With BA tuition fees costing around $18,000 per year and MA fees $23,000, students are looking for alternatives.
One with a better return on this significant investment.
Many are looking for short online learning courses to meet their needs. There is a shortage of fashion tutors targeting the industry. And only a couple of well organised curated sites dedicated to fashion only courses.
As the market continues to shift, fashion educators need to listen to students and re-think the balance of their course offerings. These must better reflect the changing needs of the industry and the expectations of adult learners.
Rich Earnings
Course creators who serve this shift can make significant extra income if they correctly approach course creation and marketing.
Here are a few examples of how course creators in non-fashion markets exploited the opportunities elsewhere.
Sophie Lizard’s freelance blogging and copywriting career supports a family of 6. Through her blog, courses and other resources, Sophie teaches writers how to earn real money blogging.
Victor Bastos has reached more than 82,000 students with his computer courses, which has earned him over $900,000!

It helps millennials and recent graduates figure out how to repay their student loans early and master personal finance basics. This made Zina an authority in this niche, and she now learns a high income.

Graphic Designer Tara Roskell earnt herself $30,371.92 and has 3,702 students, and has been teaching online courses since July 2012.
Example 4
Justin Brooke created a six-figure online course business. He launched his first online course 11 years ago when the online education industry was still in its infancy. The first course he ever created was a course on how to build Joomla websites, which he sold for $35, to educate others about how to use the Joomla software.
He then started making other courses, including one on buying and selling websites for profit, that taught people how to make money from website domain ownership.
According to Justin, online courses about marketing and advertising aren’t the only types of courses that are experiencing great demand. Justin told us
“Just one segment of the online education market made a $172,000,000 last year. Coding boot camps! So it’s a boom time for teachers right now."

Tiffany Bymaster made $80,000 in 2016 from three launches of her course. She teaches her best pro tips and insider tricks from 17+ years working as a makeup artist, wardrobe stylist, set designer.
Example 6
Three women behind the Healthy Habits Happy Moms website made more than $200,000 since July 2016. They help women and mothers who desire to learn more about healthy living and fitness.

Or Alun Hill has created several courses taken by over 50,000 students and have earned him more than $750,000.
What's Our Point?
Whilst these may not be typical results, they do show how far online courses have come. Online course creation no longer belongs to universities and e-learning organisations. It's now possible for anyone to seize the opportunity.
